You know it was a long winter when Dot folks show up EARLY and ON TIME for an event! Last night’s annual meeting brought people out of the snowbanks we hadn’t seen for months! With almost 50 people mixing and mingling and enjoying the carb-worthy Tavolo pizza (personal favorite? carmelized onion and pear!), DotOUT President Chris McCoy charmed the crowd with his very own Dorchester-style multi-media, techno-bedazzling presentation. The ever gracious and bicep worthy First Lady aided with the technicalities.

As el Presidente McCoy noted in his remarks, DotOUT accomplished a lot last year—we made new partnerships with other LGBT groups (hey, The Welcoming Committee!); we strengthened existing relationships with wonderful Dorchester non-profits like the Kit Clark Senior Center and issues on aging LGBT Dorchester residents; we even managed to bring a little glitter to the extremely talented young artists at Dot Art with the assistance of Dot Art Executive Director Liz Carney.

Some of the more memorable highlights from the event included welcoming new friends from Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz’s office, old friends who are bravely rebuilding their lives after loss and, of course, welcoming new, new friends to the DotOUT Steering Committee.

So… last year? FABULOUS BEYOND BELIEF. This year? UNIMAGINABLE!

We hope you can join us at our many events this year. Come celebrate the uniqueness that is Dorchester with a little DotOUT glitter! See you soon!

More details about our new DotOUT Steering Committee members once they get their bios to me!
